Once upon a time, going out on a Saturday night involved an hour of getting my hair and make-up to look just right, heading out around 9:30 or 10, dancing till closing, grabbing breakfast at Denny's or some greasy local diner before rolling in around somewhere between four and five.

I went out tonight, for the first time in too long to remember. Did my make-up and wore my scary, flexi-heeled suede boots. Didn't bother to do my hair because, quite frankly, I no longer remember what to do. Went out with a friend to a restaurant/bar in the Southside Works that pretends to be Irish, but was really pretty generic. We had an outside table right next to a fire pit, so that was nice. Had some appetizers, one drink each, and I was home by a little after eleven. Which works for me, because it means I'm able to listen to the Pens game.

I am so old and lame. *sigh*

Pot, meet kettle, lol. Although I was home much later than you, the party I went to was very quiet. Mostly we just sat there with our drinks and talked about the kids, lol. And hair, make-up and figuring out what to wear did not take long. :)

I'm glad you went out. And glad you got home in time for hockey. I was busy with house stuff most of the evening, but caught the last 5 minutes of regulation and the whole overtime of the Caps game. Always good to start the season with a win!

Despite getting home pretty early, I still didn't manage to get to bed until 2, what with the Pens game going almost till one and then having to wind down and all. It was a good night, though, since the Pens won. :)

Pretty much, yes. The heels are about an inch wide, but only about a quarter of an inch thick, so when I walk on them, they tend to flex a little bit. It always feels like they're about to snap, but they haven't yet so I have to assume they're structurally sound. And they look pretty damn good, so I keep wearing them.
