We're getting a very warm welcome to summer this year. If it gets as warm as predicted today, it will be the third day in a row in the nineties, which is pretty unusual for Pittsburgh. It's also pretty unfortunate that I just moved into an apartment that has no screens in most of the windows, no air conditioning, and apparently rather minimal insulation. It is HOT in here! To make things just a little more fun, there was a power outage for a good four hours last night, from about 10 to a little after 2am. No word on what the specific cause was, but the electric company does warn that they're expecting blackouts this summer. Joy!

In better news, today is lyda_pearl's birthday. Happy Birthday, sis. I may grumble occasionally about the changes in my life the past few months but I am soooooo glad you are down here in Pittsburgh with me now!

I am hoping that this early heat wave (3 days in a row of 90 or more) is like the Oct 29, 2011 snowstorm we had here and is the harbinger of weird weather of an unusually mild sort.

The heat is terrible here too. My problem is that I have air conditioning and I'm using it way too much. My electric bill will probably keep me from having money for food next month. The weather needs to cool off a bit soon for all our sakes.
