Sep. 12th, 2012 09:43 amYesterday was not the most successful day ever. I maybe pushed myself a little too hard at the gym, running three miles instead of two while my diet is in a bit of flux. Nothing I ate agreed with me so I spent the day feeling overwhelmingly tired, fighting off a pounding headache, bloated and nauseous. My plans for the day had included going to a Rush concert after work, but by about four in the afternoon, when I was fighting off waves of nausea and anxiously waiting for the advil to take away my headache, I realized that perhaps a rock concert was not the best plan. Boo!
One bit of luck; I'd walked less than a mile towards home before some friends saw me and offered me a ride home. This involved the wife being tired and tetchy, the husband repeatedly offering 'I love you' to the tetchy and tired wife, a bouncy but somewhat tired three year old and a crying newborn, two separate cars and the sorting out of who goes in what car, an unplanned detour to their house to drop off the crying baby and bouncy three year old, and the establishing of plans for when I'm going over there to babysit said newborn and three year old. I managed to not outright laugh at them even once, although they were all pretty thoroughly entertaining.
The evening was capped off by the fact that one of the neighborhood cats had crawled up onto our porch and died. Poor thing. But I did get to officially meet Gibbs, one of our other neighborhood cats - a mostly abandoned creature (his owner is elderly, had a fall and has been staying with family for some months) whose piteous crying prompted LP to mostly adopt him. He's staying outside, but he's definitely accepted her as a Friend, and he even deigned to sniff my hand last night.

Date: 2012-09-12 02:16 pm (UTC)I'm still recovering from the concert, feeling a little light-headed, floaty and tired. I think some protein might help but so far all I've had is carbs and orange juice. I hope you are feeling better.
