I wish the weekend was longer, as always. Yesterday was spent at a work conference, all day. Then a spaghetti dinner (a Pastafarian dinner, no less, where you would get free raffle tickets if you dressed like a pirate) with LP's skeptics friends. I was exhausted before the day even started, so by the time we got home, I was pretty thoroughly done. In bed by nine o'clock, I managed a wonderful 12 hours of almost uninterrupted sleep. I can't even tell you when that last happened.

Today, eve11 picked me up for costume shopping and brainstorming. I'm not used to doing costume planning and preparing at this time of year, but it's good to have projects. So now I have pretty fabric (at least the outer layer) to make an underbust corset for my Steampunk Five costume. I also have an idea for a possible other Doctor Who costume to work on, for Chicago TARDIS. Maybe. I'll see.

And then, when I got home, I finally watched The Power of Three. And then I watched the last few episodes of season two of Hawaii Five-O in preparation for season three premiering tomorrow night. And I also even managed to do a bit of housework. I guess that's what weekends are for, but I could use a day of pure down time. I guess that will have to wait until next weekend.

The weekends always seem to fly by. Are you already working on costumes for Aug/Sept 2013?

The costumes that we're working on right now are for a Doctor Who convention in Chicago, that takes place on Thanksgiving weekend, this year. If we don't get them pulled together for that, though, they'll definitely be good to go for Dragon*Con next Sept.

Well, you have 8 weeks or so right? Can you use them for both events even so or do enough of the same people go to both that they wouldn't be fresh enough?

I've got two costumes that are mostly put together, just need a few tweaks or alterations. I've worn both of them at previous D*Cs, but don't mind wearing them again. I plan to have at least one or two new ideas for next fall, but will also probably trot out the Steampunk Five again, as it's still a work in progress and always changing.
