yeah yeah, I'm whining, nothing new here

The landlord installed a new furnace for our apartment when we rented it. There seems to be a long list of complicated things that must be done before we can turn said furnace on. We just got back from a weekend away to a very chilly apartment. One that has, as far as we can tell, next to no insulation. It's going to get down to the mid-thirties tonight. My bed is against an exterior (apparently uninsulated) wall. It's going to be an unpleasant few days until we can get the landlord down here and get the heat flowing (along with the complicated start up procedure, we also need new filters that actually fit properly, which he is buying for us).

Remember back in the summer when I was complaining about how unbearably hot it was? I'm beginning to look back on those days with distinct longing.

Ugh. I'm sorry that you arrived home to a chilly apartment. I actually ended up putting the heat on for a couple of hours. I couldn't cope with pet-empty and cold, too!

Uh-Oh! Hope it gets going sooner than you think. I turned mine on one of the first things I did when I got here. Where is that "candle" when you need it?

I was truly lamenting the lack of 'candles' in our apartment, but luckily, the heat got fixed on Monday. We're all warm and cozy now.
