Oct. 15th, 2012 09:24 amI feel like I've fallen off the face of the Earth. I'm lucky if I manage to post something once a week, and then it's usually a moan about something.
So how about a cheerful post, just for a lark?
Last weekend we had a family get together in Mt. Gretna (between Harrisburg and Philadelphia, PA). Including me, six of the nine sibs were there and we were only missing one Pennsylvania member of the family. Not too shabby. We rented a house for the long weekend, although not many folks were able to stay on through Monday. It's in a beautiful, woodsy area and several combinations of us took walks on the Rail Trail, as well as over to the local playground. Yes, we had Lil A with us, which meant we needed absolutely nothing else in the form of entertainment. He made us all run many, many laps around the inside of the playground's gazebo, do lots of falling down and getting up, and even some On-Demand hopping. We experienced the power of leaves (they magically work to Power Up anyone holding one, adding greatly to running prowess).
A good group of us stayed up unreasonably late on Saturday night to watch the Reds beat the Giants in game one of that series (sadly, that didn't set the precedent for the final outcome of the series, but at least we had a good game to watch). In spite of that, another good group of us managed to go to Sunday brunch at a sweet little restaurant right across the way from our house.
It was more fun than I was expecting, and hopefully we'll be able to do something similar next year, possibly in the summer when more of us will be able to take a little time off work.
I have a few pictures, but I'm posting from work so they'll have to wait until a later time.
