Well, the weekend wasn't completely wasted. I got laundry done today - all of it washed and dried, one load left unfolded but it might just stay that way for a while. Went shopping with LP. Got two shirts, two sweaters and a pair of jeans from Target, and a bunch of steamy doodads from Michaels.

I've got two weeks to put together some sort of steampunk/western prospector sort of costume and the cargo pants I wanted for the outfit are out of stock in my size. Curse my curves. The smaller, available size, would fit at the waist and hips, but I'd never get 'em over my thighs. I guess I'll just keep looking for something that's the right style, doesn't cost too much and can be delivered in time. Yikes!

Oh no! I hope you can find a good replacement for the pants! The hat I wanted to get from steampunk emporium was out of stock, but they offered me a different one instead, that should work...assuming I can do something useful with my hair.

I am almost at the point where I can start thinking about fun things for the party instead of cleaning and other logistics stuff.

I'll keep working on it, see what I can come up with. At this point, I'll probably have to make due with something I already have, unless I find something great and cheap online, tonight.

Yeah, turns out Steampunk Emporium doesn't have the hat that they said they could use to replace the one I wanted, either. They offered me some substitutes but none of them looked like what I wanted. So I guess I'll stop at the costume store in Robinson today after work and see if there is a simple one I can decorate. I've got tons of ribbon and silky fabric and stuff. I can likely decorate my own, especially if I spring for a few craft feathers. And it will be cheaper than the $58 that the hat cost online.

Sounds like a productive weekend to me! I hope you find some pants for the costume without too much stress.

My 'productive' weekends have been remarkably unproductive the past six months or so. I'm hoping I find some new energy somewhere, soon!

I'm sure I will. How's your costume plotting coming along?
