Turns out I have two stories nominated for the MEFAs. [livejournal.com profile] llinos nominated Pippin the Troll Slayer. Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] llinos!

I've never been nominated for anything before so I was very overwhelmed last night when I got those notifications.

So, how do you do the little heart thing anyway? I've always wondered.

Yes, you did. Of course, this whole awards thing is a popularity contest, with the person receiving the most comments winning, so I don't have a chance at actually winning with either of the stories that have been nominated, but it makes me happy to be nominated anyway. :)

Isn't it fun? I'm pleased for you; and I'm over the moon over the ones of mine that are nominated.

The neat thing about this one is that though in one way its a "popularity contest", in another way, it doesn't matter, because of all the great feedback you can get, and the chance to read and comment on stories you may have missed, or forgotten. I love the way they are doing it this year on the website. My ambition is to at least review each and every hobbit story, and then as many as possible of the stories in the Hobbit, LotR, and Post-WotR categories, then as many as I can in some of the other categories, such as humor.

Congratulations on your nomination! I'm off to check and see if any more hobbit stories have been added today...

I took a look at the website and there are a ton of stories to make my way through. It's a good thing they spread this out over half the year, cause otherwise there would be no way to get to all the stories in time. I'm going to have to start reading them as soon as this cold of mine clears up (I seem to have a pinkeye thing, with one eye all weepy and swollen, which makes extended reading impossible).

And congratulations on your nominations as well. :D

Hey, I'm not sure exactly what that means (the acronym, that is), but congratulations all the same.

Is E! going to be covering the red carpet arrivals?

MEFA stands for Middle-earth Fanfiction Awards. Although I don't think E! will be covering the red carpet arrivals, their sister organization, E! Middle-Earth, might just be there. :)
