Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
Dec. 26th, 2012 09:58 amOn Christmas Eve, the prediction for this storm was lots of freezing rain and sleet. Ten minutes ago, that prediction looked pretty good. Then I went to weather.com and saw that we were in fact in range to get the snowy bits and they're predicted 3-5 inches today. I looked out the window and sure enough, it was snowing and sticking to the ground. It's like magic, how it changed so fast.
Yesterday, we were up in Grove City for Christmas with
ani_no_mouse and
wbkbb, and they had a good inch or inch and a half on the ground, so it was a white Christmas for us, as well. It looked pretty and we went for a little walk with the dogs after dinner, tromping through the snow.
However, as pretty as it is to watch the snow fall and accumulate, now that the temps have dropped below freezing, I'm realizing just exactly how big a gap I have in my windows. Even with the curtains pulled closed last night, I still had quite a breeze blowing over my face every time I emerged from my blanket cocoon. Not so warm and cozy, really. I guess that means my primary task for today is to put the plastic up on the bedroom window.

Date: 2012-12-26 06:05 pm (UTC)WBKBB woke up for a bit around 11:30 and emerged long enough to say that I looked cold. I had to tell her that I always walk around the house in my cap and scarf and three or four layers of sweaters and sweatshirts in the winter (and did so even in Mississippi.) Then she went back to bed. That girl does hibernation right!
