I've been so, so lazy this week. But I did manage to get my driver's license replaced this morning. Of course, we got all the way down to the place, knowing I'd forgotten my check book but thinking they'd take credit/debit cards. No such luck. All the way back home, grab check book, head back out. It's a good thing [livejournal.com profile] lyda_pearl is so patient, because I have no patience at all for that sort of thing and when we turned around to go home the first time, I was a bit cranky.

Other than the checkbook thing, I can't complain about the downtown drivers' license center. I was in and out in about fifteen minutes with a new license. Didn't have to get a new photo since they had the old one on file - thank goodness, since I looked like a wreck this morning. Now I just have to remember that I still have the old expiration date on the thing, and I'll have to deal with renewal in just over a year.

Other than that, I've been streaming a lot of Netflix. Yesterday and today it was Midsomer Murders. I hadn't ever watched any of it before and so far (midway through season two) I'm enjoying it a lot.

I have meant to try Midsummer Murders but haven't yet. I might give it a go this weekend. Right now, I'm into HomeLand with Claire Danes. I'm watching season one on Amazon so I'm way behind. They just finished season two.

I was at the DMV here recently to get the sticker for my license plate for the year and it was surprisingly, not a bad experience at all this time. I went on the 26th and I think that helped. It wasn't all that crowded. Sometimes, I think the other people in line make the experience worse than the DMV workers.

I was just watching an episode of Midsomer Murders this afternoon when there was, surprise, Orlando Bloom! A very young, punky Orlando Bloom, sexing his way through an entire village, lol. And then to make it even better, the name of the first house the detectives stop at when they're investigating the murder of the week is Lothlorien.

I haven't heard of HomeLand. I'll have to check it out.

I had to deal with the same checkbook issue when I went to Mercer to get my MS license transferred to PA. In fact, I misread their sign first and thought they did at least take cash so I went to bank machine and took out enough to cover the $60.00 fee first, then realized that I really did have to drive back to Grove City to get my checkbook. Who carries a checkbook around these days?

I watched a couple of episodes of Midsomer Murders in Mississippi (the library had them on DVD) and realized that they are based on a series of mystery novels that I rather enjoyed. I think the authors name is Caroline Graham or something close to that (I definitely got them from the G section of the adult fiction area in the library).

The first season of episodes seem to be based directly on her novels. After that, it seems that they are creating new stories with the characters. But I've noticed that they have the original author as screenwriter for at least a few of the episodes.

Glad you got your license successfully replaced, in spite of the obstacles. I haven't watched Midsomer Murders, but it sounds pretty good.

It's always good to have proper ID, in case one should need it. :)
