It's a hockey day in Pittsburgh. A big hockey day. If the Pens win tonight, they tie the series 3 apiece and go on to the final battle for the Cup in Detroit. If they lose tonight, Detroit gets the Cup. That's what happened last year - game six, Detroit and Pittsburgh, in Pittsburgh. Pens lost and had to watch Detroit take the Cup in front of their very disappointed home crowd. No one (except perhaps the Redwings) wants that to happen again. So there's a certain amount of pressure on the guys to win this game. Will they rise to the occasion or buckle like Gonchar's bum knee? We'll know the answer to that in three or four hours.

LOL, you should totally be one of those movie-serial-announcers. Or perhaps you've been listening to too much Mike Lange... though actually that statement makes too much sense to be a Lange-ism ;)

It actually comes from Dan Bylsma's press conference today. He talked a lot about teams showing what they're made of and teams buckling under the pressure. I guess we'll find out what the Pens are made of in a little bit.

I like this quote from Brooks Orpik, btw.

“People talk about extra motivation and stuff, but we’re in the Stanley Cup,” Orpik said. “I don’t think anyone needs extra motivation. If there is such a thing as extra motivation at this point, I don’t know what it is.”
