It was a tight, tense game. No score in the first period. The Pens scored early in the second period and then Fleury held the 'Wings off the rest of the period. Third period, the Pens scored again and for a while it was 2-0. Detroit finally got on the board midway through the third, but Fleury held on, made an absolutely awesome save on a breakaway, took some help from Scuderi in a mad flurry with about a minute and a half left. Pens won 2-1.

One more game, back in Detroit. Whoever wins on Friday takes home all the marbles.

Now if only Fleury can find a way to keep his focus in the Joe Louis Arena.

I'm really hoping that the reality of a game 7 will outweigh the home crowd effect. Fleury will have to be strong; I think he will have to make the first steal-it-away save of the game. If we go up 1-0, it'll be a barn-burner. But if we go down 0-1, it might lead to another meltdown.

Game 7 would be a GREAT time for Crosby to wake up and score the first goal of the game. That would be awesome.

Half of me is convinced that Fleury is going to totally steal the game on Friday. He's had his meltdown game, he overcame it to have a fabulous win at home, and now he's going to want to prove to his team that he can overcome it in Detroit as well.

The other half of me thinks the Pens are fucked.

I'm wondering a lot what's going on with Crosby. Is it just that he's not producing, so they're not playing him as much in order to give other lines that are producing more ice time, or is there some other reason that they aren't revealing right now (like he's got a bug or some injury that he's having trouble playing through)? Is it just that when all's said and done he's still a young player and he's just got a bit fazed by the whole thing with Zetterberg shutting him down so well? He just looked outrageously frustrated on Saturday, like he couldn't make anything happen and he didn't have a clue how to change that.

I think it's awesome that the Pens held on and pushed this to a game seven. Whether they win or lose, they've proven that they deserved to be here. Still, it will be better if they win. :)
