I was really happy to see Sykora playing tonight. He hasn't been in the lineup since early in the second round, against Philadelphia. He didn't score, but he did make a great save in the first period. In one of the post-practice interviews he made a comment about going to a game seven. It would be his third Stanley Cup game seven and he said there was no way a guy should lose in game seven three times so he thinks the Pens will win.

And apparently Scuderi made some comment a couple days ago about the team consisting of a lot of pieces and him being just one of the pieces, but it got turned around a bit in the media to say that he was the piece, so now the guys are all calling him The Piece. Jordan Staal let it slip in his post game interview tonight, but when the reporter asked him to explain what it was all about, he just laughed and got a little embarassed and wouldn't explain.

Speaking of Jordan Staal, it's been a little disturbing to me, how much he reminds me of my little brother in appearance. It's the pale skin, light reddish blond hair and almost invisible beard, and his nose. He's bigger than Little Brother, though. LB only clocks in at 6 ft.

The young guys on the team are pretty entertaining. It gives me more respect for Bylsma, though. It's like being a high school gym teacher. Your students might be exceptional athletes, but they're still boys. :)

Hurray! Glad to hear the Pens are going on to game seven! And with an LB-lookalike-on-ice! I haven't seen LB in years so I still picture him with the long braid. I don't suppose JS has one of those?

I can't find a still image that encapsulates the LBness of Jordan Staal, but if you go to this article (http://penguins.nhl.com/team/app/?service=page&page=NewsPage&articleid=425209) and click on the little Jordan Staal link, it will show a post-game clip that's pretty typical Staal.

It may just be me though, and it certainly didn't hit me the first time I watched him.

Oh yeah - there is a definite similarity there.

The other evening when JS was giving a post-game interview, I was very struck with how much he resembles JCB! I was going to ask you if you had noticed it also.

Except JS doesn't have that striking blaze of white in his whiskers that JCB has always had.

Well, if it was a perfect resemblance, it would be a little scary. So thank goodness for differences. :)
