It looks very wintry outside today. Snow's been falling all day and there's a couple inches of fresh stuff on the ground. The sky still looks completely leaden and full of snow, and it's supposed to continue to come down all day, although this being Pittsburgh, we're not supposed to get much more accumulation out of it.

It's practically balmy out, however, with the temps up to the mid-twenties (fahrenheit). Much the same tomorrow and then things plummet back down to single digits. I am very, very grateful to my sister [livejournal.com profile] lyda_pearl and various people at work who have made sure I don't have to walk five miles a day on the especially cold days. I'm also very grateful to LP for making sure I have the proper cold weather gear for the times when I do have to walk. Because of her efforts, even on the very cold days, I'm still pretty warm and toasty when I get to work. Enough so, in fact, that I sometimes wish there was a shower at work. But I'll definitely take arriving at work a bit sweaty over frostbite, any day of the week.

My apartment continues to be a bit on the chilly side. But then I talk to various co-workers who have to pay their own heat and keep the thermostat set at 62 or 63 all winter long, and I realize how lucky I am to be able to wrap up in a hoody and a fleece blanket and be totally comfortable.

I'm glad you're seeing all the positive in everything. *beams*

I'm attempting to date again, and this requires a positive attitude. Otherwise, one would just crawl under the covers and never come out, lol.

I am glad to hear you are getting rides and have appropriate gear for this unbearably cold weather.

It has been a truly wintry winter this year. I'm glad, too, that I haven't had to walk every day.

Yeah, I tend to keep my thermostat at about 63 degrees when I'm at home and awake because of that old "paying for heat" thing. Today was a sit at the computer and work all day day, however, so I pushed it all the way up to 65 degrees and then huddled in longjohns and turtlenecks and sweatshirts, and blankets and cap and wrist warmer thingies! Another such day ahead of me tomorrow, I think, although at some point I'm going to have to go out and shovel the driveway, which should warm me up for at least a little while!

Stay warm, one way or another! Huddle with the furkids if necessary. I'm sure they won't object too much, at least the pups. :)

We have snow here too and it isn't melting thanks to the low temperatures. It just keeps piling up. Glad you are warm. I'm ready for spring.

This has definitely been a colder and snowier winter than we've had in a while!
