As expected, it's been a very rough week. Yesterday, the combination of exhaustion, pms, and a terrible transition week at work combined to make me feel very low and sorry for myself indeed. Today, however, the sun was shining, the birds were singing, and I am feeling a good bit better.

I've taken the bus most of the week, partly because of being exhausted but also because I've had some painful plantar fasciitis in both feet. As a result of the rest, I felt better enough tonight to force myself to do some exercises:

A set of 10 fifer scissors
4 sets of 10 leg extensions with an exercise band (this worked my arms as well, having to hold the resistance band)
2 30-sec planks

It's not much but a good start. Now I just need to keep it up consistently for the long term, and gradually add to it.

Hope you soon feel better.

Thanks. I'm allowing myself to take the bus for the next few weeks, so hopefully that will at least take care of the foot problem. And the mood will resolve itself eventually.

10 fifer scissors is great! They are really hard. it took me a while to get past 6.

I have to start up my exercises again too. I am just dreading it because I know I will have backslid on what I used to be able to do. But if I let that stop me from starting it up again, well, that won't solve anything.

I am glad you are feeling better. Next week I am away all week for work but the week after that I think I will be up for the gym. If not Thursday then we can pick a different day.

The fifer scissors were difficult, but hopefully worth it. I've got to get my abs back under control. And I want to get up to being able to do planks for sixty seconds at a time, but I'm not even close there yet.

And I'll be happy to get back to the gym the week after next. I had to run a block to catch the bus yesterday and just that little bit of running seemed to improve my mood. I forget when I'm not doing it how good it really is for me.

I'm glad today was better - at least a little. You have a great attitude. And congrats on the exercises. You always manage to keep plugging away at what you need to do. I hope you have a good weekend and next week is much better.

I tend to take frequent looooooong breaks between doing what I need to do, but I guess something is better than nothing. :)

Thanks. I knew from the start that this week would be difficult but the pms/getting my period just made all the emotional stuff ten times worse than I was expecting. Fun times!

I'm hoping I'm one of the lucky ones that goes early. Since I'm actually looking forward to menopause, it will probably take an extra decade to arrive, lol.

Not the easiest, but hopefully I'll manage it.

Plantar Fascitis in my experience does not go away on its own. Do you need new shoes with better support?

I found some exercises to do, but I do also need to buy new shoes. My doctor keeps telling me to go to a shoe store where they'll watch me walk and pick out exactly the right shoe for my needs. I have no idea where this mythical shoe store is, because it certainly isn't anywhere in my neighborhood.

I hope that work gets easier and that you find your new exercise plan easy to follow (well, a miracle could happen) and energizing! I, for one, have been telling myself all evening, "at least I'm not in Hershey!" Hopefully you can find some similarly encouraging mantra for yourself.

It will get better. That's my mantra. It will get better, it will get better, it will get better....
