I'm back on my own little computer!
*does the dance of joy*
It may be slow as all get out (my sis went crazy trying to get the dsl hooked up - she asked the comp. to do more than one thing at a time and on top of that there was a glitch with my Norton Internet Security, so the whole thing was like a truckload of molasses spilled across the highway in February) but it has all my settings on it, it knows me and I don't have to be dancing around P's stuff. I can once again download pictures, I can read long fic, I can sing, I can dance, well, you know what I mean, lol.
Speaking of fics, I'm feeling terribly out of date. I know nearly everyone has been writing up a storm and I hope to get caught up as quickly as I can. And if anyone wants to point me in a certain direction, I'll be most happy to oblige. :)
In other news, I talked to my guys tonight. It appears that the FCG has gone entirely wild since I've left. First they met on a Thursday instead of Wednesday one week, and this week they all adjourned to
cajun's place to watch something on TV, which Cajun did explain to me, and which I've already forgotten the name of - sorry dude, my brain is like a sieve, everything just slides right through. I got a chance to talk to everyone who was there, which was nearly everyone I think, except
panthera_onca, who I guess was busy being a daddy.
I also had some encouraging news on the job front. On Monday I applied for a job at the college and was feeling a little concerned because I hadn't heard from anyone about it. Today I found out that it is only open to in-house applications right now, which worried me more than a little. I figured chances were pretty good someone within the college system would get it. Then this evening, D called (she works at the college library, is a good friend of P and is doing her best to help me find a job, library related or other). She said that she talked to someone about me and they were very excited about me, and don't expect anyone to want the job in-house, so I'm trying to feel optimistic that I will hear from them sometime after June 22, which is the in-house deadline.

Maybe you could have an FCG community on LJ, so you can all meet up on that or AIM or something
