Argghh! Writer's block is evil! Evil I say, evil!

Oi! I think I'm going to let someone ghost write the rest of 'Courage.' Either that or go back to the plan I had this morning and kill off all the characters. I actually wrote it out and posted it, but took it down again almost immediately. It was quite funny. Aragorn had to amputate Pippin's leg due to an infected wound he'd somehow forgotten about, which had turned gangrenous. The amputation went dreadfully awry and poor Pippin died of blood loss. Then Merry, in shock and needing cousin comfort, went to see Sam and Frodo only to find that they had accidently been given far too strong a sleep medicine, by Aragorn, and their hearts had stopped. In a towering rage, Merry confronted Aragorn. "Hello. My name is Merry Brandybuck. You killed my cousins. Prepare to die." He killed Aragorn (who was huddled up on the floor in shock that he'd let Pip die) and then the guards killed Merry.

See, at this point a ghost writer is probably a pretty good idea. Although, hm, filling the chapter up with random movie lines, appropriately altered of course, might work just as well. Do you think anyone would notice?

Eep. I'm afraid! Even the thought of all the characters being killed off makes me shiver (nooo...Pip...), although I did like Merry's last words ;) I think it's hard to write more than one fic at a time. I lose whatever momentum I started with if I go from one to the other too much. But I'm sure there will be a happier ending for "Courage" than character death, abuse of movie quotes and ghost writers... even if it takes a while - I won't poke, honest. Ahem.

Thanks for the help! Those two have been following me around all day, coughing and feeling each other's foreheads, and then going on extensive guilt trips about how it's all each one's fault if the other should fall ill. Merry, ever the responsible fellow, wouldn't let any of the children play in the sandbox because there were some dubious-looking bugs in there and he was afraid someone might get stung. Then the children cried and Merry panicked because he didn't know what to do next.

Pippin thought someone was choking at lunch and started doing the heimlich, but it turns out the child was only making funny noises.

The poor lads are now on break with me. They are sitting huddled up under the computer desk, and I can't get them to come out. I think I'll leave them home tomorrow!

As for 'Courage' I think it will be fine. I was unreasonably tired yesterday (I don't know why) and my brain was just not cooperating with me. Today I feel much better and can probably come up with something that doesn't involve character death or abuse of movie quotes.

Hee hee, poor lads. I guess only children could reduce them to that state! I'm glad you're feeling better today, and the bloodbath has been put off for a while ;)

Interesting idea to kill all of the characters, but might make your next fan fiction into a sci fi. You'd have to bring them back and that would have to be horror or sci fi, or a soap opera. In soaps anyone who dies can always come back! LOL Don't worry, you'll finish it. Something will coe to you when you least expect it. It's a very good story to this point.

Hmm, you're giving me ideas. The Fellowship come back from the next world and have all sorts of wacky adventures as undead beings, lol.

*tapping foot, fixing glare in Meesh's direction* I trust you feel better now, having gotten the frustration out of your system! There is so much you have to see and to be and to do ... no, wait, that's somebody else. Be that as it may, the remainder of this story can be purely Pippin's memories coming back. Surely you can do that! Don't worry, dear. It will come. I can't imagine working on a long story, while working on shorter ones at the same time. Well, maybe I can, since I'm doing that with OF, but that isn't a fanfiction long story and somehow doesn't count. I'm sure you will make it turn out right in due time. Just relax. Take a deep breath. Count to ten. Exhale. Okay, now you feel better, right? And you know I'll be happy to help in any way I can. Take your time. :-)

*stares at feet* Yes ma'am. I'll be good now, ma'am. I won't kill any more of my characters and I won't abuse movie quotes and I will get right to work on chapter ten. After I get home from work, of course.

I do know what I have to do with this chapter, it's just been a little difficult convincing Merry and Pippin that they need to go along with my plan. They are feeling quite angsty today, though and that's a good thing. I think they might be ready for the next hurdle now. :)
