Apparently I need to up my comics creds or I'm out! I wasn't able to follow the Flash Gordon references, I haven't bought any comics in weeks (is it my fault that I'm living in poverty, I ask you?), I haven't brought any filth to the table in far too long, and I'm just not nearly geeky enough. *sigh* I can't even be good at being a geek. I am just a boring, boring person.
Edit: I tried, guys, really I did, but the 1980 movie of Flash Gordon isn't available through Netflix. So I will just have to be kicked out of the group. No more FCG for me.
That said, I've been trying and trying to do some writing; getting nowhere with it. Every day at work, during naptime when the kids are all settled down and I have nothing else to do, I write down little snippets of fic, usually just broad outlines of plots I'd really like to work on. All these bits of scribbled-on paper then end up on my desk, but none of them ever manage to get transfered to the computer. I spend all my computer time reading fic and never quite get around to writing any, mainly because when I try, nothing happens. I've become impotent. Yes, that is what has happened. My writing mojo is gone, my pen is limp and there is no happy feeling to be found.
So in order to jump start things, I think I'll do the drabble challenge thing that occasionally goes round. Request a fandom, character, pairing, category, image, etc, (or any combination of same) and I'll give you something between a drabble and a novel, depending on the inspiration. Fandoms I can write: Stargate, Atlantis, LotR, Lost, Buffy, Angel, Farscape, Firefly/Serenity, Hetty, Doctor Who.
And now, in an effort to not sit here reading other people's fic all night, I'm going to go watch some episodes of The Sentinel, which arrived from Netflix this afternoon.
