Grass and Sky

We had our first meeting about the murder mystery tonight. It's all a bit vague for me, but I'm sure things will come together more in the next month. We will be having 'rehearsals' once or twice a week (except spring break) which means somewhere along the line of maybe five times. Now, when I say rehearsals, I don't mean rehearsing. We'll be learning how to get in character and take on the roll we've been assigned but there isn't a script, so it's pretty much all memorizing a few famous quotes and trying to get a sense of the personality of our character.

I was hoping this would be an informal enough event (within the play) that I would be able to get away with trousers, but no such luck. Kate is gonna have to be all dolled up. We (meaning Lyda Pearl and I) may end up going all out and getting our hair and makeup done if we can find someone to do it for us. Or not. It remains to be seen. I think we are planning a shopping trip this weekend however. *grins*

I'm still feeling a little intimidated by the improvisational nature of this thing, especially after having learned that a number of the other folks doing this have done some other plays and such and I haven't acted since fourth grade. *meep*
