I called tech support earlier (maybe around 6pm) because my internet was on and off, on and off all day. So the woman I speak to has me start up a new connection account or something, then in the middle of it tells me there may be a problem with my line and she needs to open a ticket on it and have someone take a look at the line. Okay, no problem. But. She doesn't finish whatever she had me doing before and signs off.

I've spent the past five hours trying to get back online and most of that time I had internet access, I just couldn't use it because every time I opened a window it took me to an 'activate your dsl' page and had me start installing the dsl software that I already installed on Tuesday.

I finally gave up and called tech support again and it took about two whole minutes for the guy to fix it, thank goodness.

One of these days, I'm going to figure out what it is about me and dsl that makes for such a fun time.

If I ever get dsl or wireless or cable or whatever lovely things are out there, I think I'll hang on to my dial-up subscription just in case I need it! Hope you can get things sorted out.

I know other people must have similar problems, but I've never actually met them. Every one I know who has dsl just loves it and never has trouble with it. When I was networked to my sister's dsl it was great, but when I had it on my own before, I had similar trouble, with a lot of disconnectivity. It's like people whose body magnetism causes watches to run slow or fast. My body magnetism causes dsl to cut out, lol.

Maybe the fDSL likes you but just can't think how to tell you, so it tease you instead.

Of course! It's got a little crush on me and the only way it can express it, is to hit me hard in the arm and run away. :)

It's not you. It's not DSL. Its stupid CSR's who try to do their job with their heads up thier rears.

Honestly, I don't think that's it. Between this experience with DSL and my last experience before I moved to NH, I spent a lot of time on the phone with the tech support people and they were always very patient, courteous and as helpful as they could be, not being able to get their hands directly on my computer to see what was going wrong. This experience with the woman who fouled up my account was the first time one of the CSRs was less than helpful, and even so she was polite and patient with me and my absurdly slow machine - it must be frustrating to help me because every time they ask me to do anything that would take someone on a decently function computer one or two seconds to do, it turns into thirty seconds or three minutes or more for my computer and none of them ever lose their patience. I give them a lot of credit for that.
