Happy meme day #5

One, I just watched Doctor Who. No spoilers, but I loved it. I liked Michelle Ryan a lot more than I was expecting. Her stint on Merlin left me unimpressed with her acting skills so I wasn't too excited when I heard she was in Planet of the Dead.

Two, played online Rock Band with eve11 and her SO last night. I'm counting it in today's happy because by the time we finished it was at least technically today. And it was so much fun. At first I thought it might be weird, because I would still be here by myself playing, but we had an IM window open and between that and being able to follow their playing on the screen, it really was almost like being there. They've both been playing a lot longer than me and they mostly play the expert or hard levels, so I felt a little pathetic playing medium. But I've gotten pretty decent at medium, so I think today maybe I'll work on the hard level a bit, see if I can master that fifth fret button.

Three, it's Easter! Happy non-denominational springtime rebirth celebrations to you all!

Technology is really great. Kinda scary, too. In the sense that I can join a rock band without leaving my living room or speaking to another living soul, lol. But I never leave my living room anyway, and this way I get to join a rock band!

I just watched the episode as well, as I couldn't see it last night (I was at work). Loved the opening.

I wish that would have happened to me last night. I was at the bus at 12:30 am ... and even the name fits - well, apart from the last letter :p

Rock band was a lot of fun! Also you saved our bacon a few times too :) And it's cool seeing how much you've improved in just a month-- you got the hang of the blue key pretty well; it won't be long before you've got the hang of the orange :) It took me a good while to go from medium to hard. I had to practice and re-practice "Celebrity Skin" by Hole like, twenty times before I could get through it without dying on hard.

I practiced a bit this morning on Float On and Eye of the Tiger. I finally made it through Float On at about 90% but it took a long time to get there. And I played Nine in the Afternoon on hard and made it all the way through the first time, but only because most of the song is so simple that I was able to flub my way through the truly hard bits and then redeem myself during the simple bits, lol. I'm starting to get the hang of sliding my hand up and down the fret bar to catch the orange notes. The problem is that I don't do speed well, and the hard setting is significantly faster than the medium setting. I could do medium speed with the orange fret no problem. Ah well, I guess I'll just keep practicing in odd moments (it's no fun to do that the whole time - far too much work for a game).
