I ended up digging my camera out this afternoon and took a few pictures. First up, my sole attempt at capturing the beauty of the fall foliage.

This is the view from my little back deck. The big oak is a little past its prime, with more brown in it than a few days ago, but a few days ago it was gray and raining, not great photo weather.



And then on to the kitty pics.

Zoe has been thinking about getting up onto the mantel all week, but waited until today to finally make the decision. Once up there, she promptly set about knocking down everything in her path.



"I shall call this mantel, My Mantel." And then she settled in to graciously receive the adoration of her enthralled subjects.



This is clearly one of her favorite things to do. This time she removed herself to her favorite spot on the sofa to receive her adoration. Or perhaps she is communing with Ceiling Cat, judging by how her head is always angled up like that.



"O hai! Watcha doin'? Lemme see." Time to get up close and personal with the camera.



And one of Mal, being utterly adorable, because kittey picspam cannot happen without Mal.

I love them all. The fall photo is very good and Mal is such a doll. Zoe is very comfortable being photographed, isn't she?

Zoe is funny. I've been able to get a few pics of her, but if she sees the camera she gets really restless. She was posed beautifully on the mantel, I got the camera, and she started pacing back and forth until I moved away and hid the camera, lol.

I have one that thinks I want him to come directly to me when I'm holding the camera. I get it out, point it at him, and he gets up and walks directly to me! It's very frustrating!

All very lovely! The trees are well past their prime here. It's been raining so they've lost a lot of foiliage by now.

I think we'll be well past the prime by this coming weekend, but for the moment, it's still quite pretty. :)

Cats expect adoration. All that time in Egypt being revered as gods went straight to their heads. :)

Every now and then I think of moving to a more even climate, when it gets particularly cold and ugly, but I'd miss the seasons way to much in the long run.

this is a chicken/egg things with me. did the Egyptians make them behave that way or did they think they were gods becuase they behaved that way? Another of life's imponderables.

Thanks for the pictures. I love picspam. Good to see the kitties. Fortunately mine have never discovered the joys of the mantel. Maybe it is the wide window sills that give a good perch to peruse things from.

Mine do love window sills as well, but I think Zoe likes jumping up to get to things and the mantel is a challenge for her. :)

I admit I'm a bit biased, but I think they're both very cute, as well. :)

It's been wonderful to have such gorgeous views outside my window the past week or so. I'll miss it when it's gone.
