Why I love this show
Oct. 12th, 2009 05:18 pmToday was an inservice day, which means I got home by three-thirty instead of six-thirty. I totally meant to get all sorts of stuff done during those extra three hours.
Well, yeah. I tidied the living room a little, got my new purchases mostly put away and the bags tucked away out of Mal's reach. And sat down and watched last week's episode of Bones. I think one of the things I love about this show is how they unashamedly embrace the most offensively stereotypical attributes of whatever sociological group they're focusing on in any given episode. They don't make fun of just one or two little niche societies, like comics geeks. They make fun of everyone they've ever encountered, ever, anywhere, including the protagonists. You can't really take offense when the mocking is so universal.
Now, I really do need to get some stuff done before coming back to the tv and turning off the brain for the rest of the night.
