Sep. 11th, 2010 01:57 pmMy original plan for this weekend was to crash, lazy around doing nothing but watching dvds and playing on the internet, and recover from Dragon*Con and the past week of hatefulness at work.
Well, I'm still doing plenty of playing on the internet, and I'm sure I'll watch some dvds at some point, but I am also actually getting some things done. I wandered into Squirrel Hill, had a breakfast sandwich and some coffee at the Evil Overlords Emporium (aka Starbucks) and bought groceries.
While out, I ran into two former work families. It's been probably six years since the first family had a child in my room, but the dad looked up and recognized me immediately and even remembered my name with seemingly no difficulty (this is more unusual than you might think - some parents barely recognize me if they see me out of context, even during the school year in which I'm in charge of their child).
I also saw a group of folks who must have been heading down to the Renaissance Festival, unless there is some other fancy dress thing going on this weekend. They had some lovely period clothing on and I had to remind myself that I wasn't at a costuming convention and they might not appreciate me whipping my camera out to get pics, lol.
I still have a boatload of housework to do, but I'm not feeling rushed to get much more than laundry (already well on its way) and kitty litter done.
